Nepal Children’s Organization (NCO) was established under the National Guidance Act, 2018 B.S. in 2021 B.S. (1964 A.D.) NCO is widely known as BalMandir (The Children’s Temple) globally. It is an autonomous, non – profit-making, social and self-governing organization working for the best interest of Nepalese children by shielding and promoting their rights in addition to providing residential care to the children at threat. NCO has a countrywide network of 77 district working committees.
In 2049 Nepal Children Organization was authorized by the then His Majesty’s government in order to implement the issues raised by child right convention and The United Nations World Summit,1990. At that time the Royal palace was its custodian and the sole purpose of the organization was to protect the child rights and work for the welfare of the children.
